Early College High School

Early College High School students are considered freshmen students and should be advised to apply as such.

UCO 1200, First Year Seminar

Early college high students who successfully complete an Associate of Arts or Science, with grades of C or better, are NOT required to take UCO 1200. If a student does not complete an Associate in Arts or Science, they ARE required to take UCO 1200, even if they are only one hour shy from completion.

Completion of AA/AS

Completing an Associate in Arts or an Associate in Science (AA/AS) from a North Carolina Community College with a grade of “C” or above in ALL of the core coursework assures that you will meet the lower level division general education requirements at ASU. This will allow you to move smoothly into your major coursework. If not, you will need to meet ASU’s General Education Program Requirements (PDF, 125KB). Note: some general education requirements may still be required in the major.

Submitting official college transcripts for dual enrollment credit while in high school

Students taking courses from a North Carolina community college MUST submit both an official high school transcript AND official community college transcript. College credit cannot be applied if the official community college transcript is not received.
